Artifacts:
The Artifacts were a legendary Hip-Hop duo hailing from Newark, New Jersey, consisting of two masterful MCs and graffiti artists: Tame One and El Da Sensei. Together, they embodied two elements of Hip-Hop—MCing and graffiti—bringing authentic artistry from the streets to their music. Tame One, in particular, had Hip-Hop in his veins, being the first cousin of New Jersey icon Redman.
As The Artifacts, Tame One and El Da Sensei dropped classic albums like Between A Rock And A Hard Place and That’s Them, solidifying their place in Hip-Hop history. Beyond The Artifacts, Tame One had a prolific solo career, collaborating with notable artists such as Del The Funky Homosapien, El-P, Cage, Aesop Rock, and KRS-One, to name a few. His raw lyricism and ability to channel his life struggles into his music earned him immense respect in the Hip-Hop community.
Tame One was not only a gifted artist but also a loyal friend to those who knew him. His legacy lives on through his music. Rest in peace, Tame One.
